Greg Hyde and LivingRoom came together in May and June of 2005 to express the songs and poems they have written and are writing together, with friend Mark Gurley, and having fun re-introducing harmonies to their style of Americana/Folk/Pop music to their friends and families. Audiences frequently sing along with the hook choruses and easy going music stories. Greg Hyde's CD "Testing the Water" has been the basis for their current song repitoire and they are working on expanding that to include new writings and old favorite covers. Greg Hyde's sound has been remarked to be like that of Cat Steven's, Van Morrison and Jimmy Buffett.
Greg Hyde - has been a singer/songwriter since he was in college where his senior thesis was writing songs. Greg is getting back to music in an acoustic way. Showcasing his songwriting again with some supportive friends.
Mary Beth Sims - provides harmonies and sings lead on some of their covers and original songs. She has always been involved with singing since she was a child. She has been a member of the Pacific Grove Hootenanny group for the last six years and sings in her church choir. "I learned to sing by ear," says Mary Beth. "Now I sing by heart."
LivingRoom has a CD from their 2005 performance at Monterey's First Night, where they sang many of their own songs and a few popular covers. The CD is available at any of their performances.
